Background: Dental periodontium is a complex tissue that supports the teeth. Therefore, severe periodontal disease can cause teeth to become loose and eventually fall out. Many factors influence the development of periodontal disease, and recently, researchers have reported a relationship between vitamin D and dental periodontium. However, only few meta-analysis studies evaluating the effect of vitamin D on the state of dental periodontium were done. Aim: Using meta-analysis study design to assess whether vitamin D consumption affects the condition of dental periodontium. Materials and Methods: The research methodology was developed according to the guidelines of the Cochrane library and the “Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis” PRISMA-2020 model developed jointly by international researchers, and was completed using the Meta-analysis research model. Endnote 20.2.1, Stata 16.0, and RevMan 5.4 software were used for research data processing. Results: Of a total of 32 studies that met the criteria, a total of 7 studies were evaluated that linked clinical attachment level (CAL) (n=5) and gingival bleeding (GB) (n=2). Compared to the control group, the vitamin D group had a decrease in both CAL and GB. The OR was (Z=3.38, p<0.00001), standardized mean difference was -2.86 (95%CI). However, the standardized mean difference of GB indicator was -7.70 (95%CI), while the overall effect was (Z=1.89, p<0.00001) or a statistically significant effect. Conclusions: Taking vitamin D reduces alveolar bone loss and gingivitis.
