Abstract

Background: The prevalence adolescents idiopathic scoliosis(AIS) has been increasing among children in recent years, but studies among Mongolian children are rare. We aimed to study the prevalence of AIS, using special tests and Cobb’s angle and to determine affecting of some anthropometric parameters. The occurrence of adolescents idiopathic scoliosis of the spine is often related to environmental factors such as sitting incorrectly at the computer or desk for a long time, trying to use the phone for a long time, lifting heavy objects, etc.The adolescents idiopathic scoliosis at least 100 but below 500 in healthy children. The study of prevalence of the adolescents idiopathic scoliosis are rare in Mongolia. We aimed to study the prevalence of AIS on Mongolian childrens. Aim of our study is to detection of prevalence of AIS of adolescent, living in capital city Ulaanbaatar and Khentii province. Materials and Methods: In this boy’s study, schools in Ulaanbaatar city and Khentii province were conducted using a cross-sectional research model and random sampling method. Principals, teachers, and parents can explore and explore the underlying goals of the study. A total of 979 (511 female, 468 male) aged 9-12 from Ulaanbaatar city and Khentii province primary schools participated. In this: Digital scoliometry was used to measure the curvature and inclination of the back of the study participants. A digital scoliometer is a short device, capable of detecting the Cobb angle in about 4-6 seconds, and is measured while holding the mount upright. Results: 6.6 percent of the children in Ulaanbaatar city and 4.9 percent of the children in the Khentii province were identified as having a Cobb angle greater than 100, idiopatic scoliosis or deviation of the spine. It can be seen that children in Ulaanbaatar are more prone to idiopatic scoliosis of the spine. Children living in Ulaanbaatar 10.3% of children with scoliosis are female and 2.9% are male. City female children have more soliosis. But in Khentii children, 4.3% with soliosis and deviation are female and 5.6% are male. Countryside men and women were close to children. At the age of 9 soliosis was detected in children from Ulaanbaatar, 3.1% was detected in children from Khentii. However, at 10 years of age, 9.9% and 8% or more were found in children from Ulaanbaatar and Khentii the highest in children from Ulaanbaatar at 12 years of age (14.9%, P≤0.00) and less in children from Khentii (4.5%). If we study the distribution of soliosis in children by region, age, and gender, it is observed in 9.11-year-old female children of Ulaanbaatar, 20.2% or the highest in 10-year-old children, and 25.9% in male children only in 12-yearold children. But in Khentii female children at 9, 10, 12 years of age, and 3.3-8.7% of male children at 10-12 years of age, the highest at 10 years of age. Conclusions: 1. The prevalence of AIS children of Ulaanbaatar, 6.6% and 4.9% of the children of Khentii province were found to have idiopatic scoliosis and deviation of the spine. Children in Ulaanbaatar are more prone to idiopaic scoliosis of the spine. 2. Adolescents idiopatic scoliosis 10.3 percent in female children of Ulaanbaatar. 5.6 percent of male children of Khentii. 3. In Ulaanbaatar, idiopatic scoliosis of the spine is observed the most in 10-year-old female children, 20.2 percent, and in male children, 25.9 percent only in 12-year-old children. In Khentii Province, only 10-year-old children had 7.3 percent of female and 8.7 percent of male children with, idiopatic scoliosis of the spine. (not available at other ages).
