Background: Globally, 14.2% of women are considered to have a need for family planning are using no method of contraception. In 2021, percentage of women of reproductive age who use any contraceptive method was 49.3% in Mongolia. Use of contraception prevents pregnancy-related health risks and give couples opportunity to plan the interval between births. Abortion rates are highest among women aged 20-34 (65.9%). The basis of this study is the need to compare the use of contraceptives among women of reproductive age groups and determine the influencing factors in Mongolia. Aim: To examine the factors influencing contraceptive use methods among women of reproductive age Materials and Methods: The research was conducted by analytical research method based on randomly selected primary and referral level hospitals in Ulaanbaatar. Research data were collected through a questionnaire prepared based on international press reviews. A statistically significant difference was considered when the p-value was less than 0.05. Results: Total of 509 women aged 15-49 years participated in the study, the mean age was 28.4±9.7. 45.6% of women were currently using contraception. The common contraceptive methods used were IUD (14.5%) and male condom (13.0%). Women’s age, marital status and education had a statistically significant association with use of contraceptives (p=0.000). Married women were 5.8 times more likely to use contraceptives than unmarried women (OR:5.8, 95% CI:2.4-13.9, p<0.001), women who had never experienced contraceptive withdrawal were 2.1 times more likely to use contraceptives and women receiving support from their husband/partner were 2.8 times more likely to use contraceptives (OR:2.8, 95% ИИ:1.96-4.25, p<0.001). Conclusion: 1. The common contraceptive methods used were IUD and male condom among women of reproductive age. Adolescent girls and young women (ages 15-24) use contraceptives less than women of other age groups. 2. Use of contraceptives influenced by age, household income, level of education and marital status.
