Abstract
Background: In the process of social development, language is always refined, otherwise it will not be able to fulfill its social role as a tool of human communication. As human knowledge expands, new terms are created. Terminology plays an important role in any field of research and branch of science, and it is a challenge to research, sample, explain, and translate traditional medical terms into internationally recognized terms. The topic of this study was selected in order to analyze and compare the differences in terms of journals published in the field of Mongolian traditional medicine, and to serve as the basis for the standardization of terms. Aim: Analyzing and comparing the published terminology of Mongolian traditional medicine. Materials and Methods: This research were conducted at the ISMM, MNUMS and Innovate and Engineering center of the Inner Mongolia International Mongolian Hospital. “Mongolian Medicine Hospital” published by the International School of Mongolian Medicine, “Scientific Cognitive Oriental Traditional Medicine”, Health Protection Chamber of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Mongolian Medical Hospital Research Institute, Khokh City International Mongolian Medical Committee is a journal with a special issue of Mongolian medicine, and these journals were selected as the main research materials. Results: There were a total of 1577 research articles in the 2008-2014 period of the Mongolian Medical Journal. Pharmaceutical prescription composition research 217 (13.7%) Pharmaceutical raw material research 55 (3.48%) Pharmaceutical composition research 83 (5.26) Mongolian pharmaceutical research 170 (10.77%) Theoretical research 113 (7.16) Women’s Disease treatment research 70 (4.43%) Remedial treatment 97 (6.15%) Illness sanatorium and nursing research 95 (6%) Joint disease treatment research accounts for 76(4.8%). Comparing the use of professional vocabulary in Mongolian Traditional Medicine terms, it is unique that menopausal syndrome is termed as period disease, cervical ulcer disease is termed as pelvic pain, habitual miscarriage is termed as habitual miscarriage, and infertility is termed as future non-pregnancy disease. Lumbar herniated intervertebral disc is also called lumbar herniated disc. Conclusions: By analyzing the published theory, treatment, diagnostic methods, disease diagnosis and medicinal raw material terms of Mongolian Traditional Medicine, and comparing the use of vocabulary in traditional medicine terms, Mongolian traditional medical disease theory, diagnosis and treatment methods have their own characteristics. The terms of medicinal raw materials of plant, animal and mineral origin are written by Tibetan name in the composition of the prescription, and because some medicinal raw materials are used as substitutes, they are written quite differently.
