Background: Ingrown toenails are one of the most common surgical problems among young people and adults. Ingrown toenails can cause cosmetic problems, discomfort, pain, loss of ability to work, difÏculty wearing shoes, and severe limitations in daily activities. Aim: The effect of phenol treatment on ingrown toenails will be compared with conventional partial nail avulsion without phenol treatment. Materials and Methods: We included 25 cases of ingrown toenail phenol treatment and 25 cases of conventional ingrown toenail removal treatment at Intermed Hospital from January 2017 to January 2022, and the results were analyzed using statistical processing performed using the STATA-22 program. Results: The average age of the research participants is 27.9-15.9. There were n=28 male and n=22 female participants in the study. Age and treatment of right and left ingrown toenails were moderately correlated (p=0.003) with statistical significance. Phenol treatment for ingrown toenails and conventional partial nail avulsion for 12-month lesions following phenol treatment is effective. Conclusions: Treatment of ingrown toenails with phenol is more effective than traditional partial nail avulsion, making it the primary treatment option.
