Background: Medicinal plants, drugs, and recipes from traditional medicine countries around the world have been using it in their medicine. Aim: To study the effect of the Panzeria alaschanica Kupr plant on an anti-inflammatory. Materials and Methods: Rats in groups of six each were treated with vehicle, Panzeria alaschanica Kupr (32, 64, and 160 mg/kg), and Ibuprofen (100 mg/kg) one hour prior to Carrageenan injection. 0.1 ml of 1% Carrageenan was injected into the sub plantar tissue of the left hind law of each rat. The swelling of the Carrageenan injected foot was measured at 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 240 minutes using Plethysmometer (UGO Basile, Italy). The right hind paw was injected with 0.1 ml of vehicle. Results: Based on the results of the study, suggested that the plant Panzeria alaschanica Kupr at a dose of 160 mg/kg has anti-inflammatory effects which are similar to ibuprofen. In assay data, the TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-10 secretion in serum were highly elevated by the Carrageenan induction but administration of Panzeria alaschanica Kupr significantly reduced serum secretion of inflammatory mediators as compared to the vehicle group. Conclusion: 1. Panzeria alaschanica Kupr plant is non-toxic, active dose ED=32 (16-200) mg/kg. 2. In conclusion, these results suggested that the plant Panzeria alaschanica Kupr at a dose of 160 mg/kg reduced anti-inflammatory effects in edema by 46.1%, IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α cytokines by 22.5-50.1%, respectively, while IL-10 cytokines increased by 44.4%.
