Aim: To study the use of antihypertensive drugs discounted from the HIF in 2021. Materials and Methods: The use of antihypertensive drugs discounted from the HIF in 2021 was studied by cross sectional method using a retrospective design. Results: In 2021, 357755 patients received price discounts on antihypertensive drugs from the HIF, and in the fourth quarter, 386391 (21.9%) patients received price discounts, which was the least compared to other seasons. By age group, 56947 (15.9%) patients aged 55-59, 57427 (16.1%) patients aged 60-64, and 106048 (29.6%) patients over 65 years of age received discounted antihypertensive drugs. Conclusion: In 2021, the use of antihypertensive drugs discounted from the HIF was high among men over 65 years of age and it was relatively high among Ulaanbaatar city and Khangai region, which may be related to population density, geographic characteristics, and the level of disease. Angiotensin receptor blockers and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors were the majority of antihypertensive drugs discounted from the HIF, and the use of losartan, lisinopril, amlodipine, and trimetazidine was high in 2021.
