Abstract

Background: Anoxic brain injury is a life-threatening condition in which the oxygen supply to the brain is completely stopped due to external and internal factors. The consequences of anoxic brain injury vary depending on the underlying disease and how long the brain has been deprived of oxygen. Anoxic brain injury can lead to loss of consciousness, loss of cerebral cognition and motor coordination, and sensory changes. Aim:To introduce the results of the diagnosis and treatment of rare clinical cases of anoxic brain injury in pediatric practice and exchange the experiences Objective: 1. Discuss the results of the diagnosis and treatment of rare cases of anoxic brain injury 2. Establish a database of clinically rare cases Introduction of the cases: A. 5 years old, family of 6, 4th child of a family, born on November 5, 2017 in San Francisco, USA, 3650 gr, due to the neonatal jaundice was hospitalized for a long time and has a fever. Breastfeeded, fully vaccinatedand the child’s growth and motor-mental development were normal between the ages of 2 years and 10 months. A. on September 21, 2020 was choked on rubber candy and drinks at eating moment. He was bruised, had a nosebleed and lost consciousness. He was admitted to the Intensive care unit of the Children’s ward of Darkhan Central Hospital. The condition of the child during the hospitalization: the child’s condition is extremely severe, unconscious, saturation-84%, pulse rate per minute-120, 36 respirations per minute, prolonged convulsions. When the sputum is sucked out of the airways, a rubber candy is released. The breathing and heart rates was unstable,on the fifth day of Intensive care, the physical condition of the child was stabilized, but activity is not restored and he was a lot of cried due to depression. The child was treated for 7 days in an Intensive care unit with diagnosis “Hypoxic, ischemic encephalopathy, acutecourse, postaspiratory right-side pneumonia, ACI-I degree, ARF-II degree, DIC, Deficient anemia”, saturation-99%, pulse rate per minute-113, 30 respirations per minute and was transferred to the National Center for Maternal and Child Health in UB. Discussion:The clinical manifestations of the brain damage in our case was are clinically confirmed by clinical and instrumental examination. Researchers have found that children’s cerebral nodes, thalamus, hippocampus and cerebrospinal fluid are the most damaged areas of the brain. The clinical manifestations of our casesconfirms this description. Conclusions: A., who suffered from the anoxic brain injury, received Intensive care and was able to save his life as a result of step-by-step treatment, but the child needs in a constant care due to speech, movement and mental retardation. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention at all levels of society to improve health education among parents and guardians to prevent domestic accidents.
