Determination of Enterococcus species from patients with gastric cancer

Background: Mongolia is the world leading country by in gastric cancer morbidity and mortality. The main cause of gastric cancer is H. pylori infection. A study fromB. Gantuya based on the amplicon sequencing method of 16S ribosomal RNA found that other types of bacteria were present in the stomach of patients with gastric cancer in addition to H. pylori. Among them Enterococcus infection was one of the most prevalent bacterial strains among patients with gastric cancer, was identified. Therefore, we conducted a study to differentiate the species by culturing Enterococcus infection from the stomach of a patient with gastric cancer. Material and Methods: The study was conducted using a pilot study model. Patients with enterococcus infection were selected by amplicon sequencing of 16S ribosomal RNA in patients with gastric cancer. Biopsy specimens from patients with gastric cancer were homoginzed with a normal saline and cultured for Enterococcus spp infection in a facultative anaerobic environment with 5-10% oxygen, pH 7-10, and chromagen agar permeability at 37-45°C. Gram staining of cultures and bacteriological isolation. Results: We cultured Enterococcus spp from a patient with gastric cancer using a culture medium and identified E. hirae at the bacterial taxonomic species level. Conclusion: We found the presence of E.hirae in the gastric tissue of a patient with gastric cancer.
