Background: Staphylococcus aureus can cause skin and soft tissue infections, lower respiratory tract infections, infective endocarditis, and blood infections, but can affect any part of the body.It also causes from local inflammation (impetigos, furuncles, MRSA, wound infections, etc.) to epidemic and severe diseases under the influence of bacterial toxins. Materials and Methods: The MRSA was determined in September 2016 in the Bacteriology Laboratory of the Hospital of the National Center. The number of patients diagnosed with MRSA in clinical specimens is increasing year by year. This study was conducted at the Children’s Hospital of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health to study the epidemiological characteristics of inpatients with MRSA. Results: In 2017-2021, 2.7% of 99424 patients, admitted to the Children’s Hospital, were infected with MRSA. The majority of patients were admitted to the General Surgery Department with a diagnosis of skin abscesses, furuncles and carbuncles. Conclusion: The infection was detected in 2652 children aged 10 days to 17 years, with a high prevalence in the under-4 age group. However, 9 out of 10 cases of infection were detected in clinical specimens taken on the first day of hospitalization, indicating a non-clinical MRSA infection.
