Background: In many parts of the world, 6-14 months are required to train a CEM nurse. In Mongolia, the School of Nursing of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia and the National University of Science and Technology are preparing postgraduate training in this field for 3-4 months. Materials and Methods: To examine the need for pilot training to build the capacity of mental health nurses. A 6-month capacity building training for mental health nurses was conducted using a descriptive survey model. A total of 17 nurses were included in the study, including a nurse from the National Center for Narcology and the local psychiatric clinic. Fiona Nolan’s (2018) confidence level of mental health registered nurses scales (Anglia Ruskin University) used a standard sheet of 24 questionnaires to assess the self-confidence of specialized nurses. The research was developed using SPSS-24 software. Results: A total of 17 nurses were surveyed, with an average age of 36.3±9.4 for men n=2 (12%) and women n=15 (88%). The students were 100% nurses. 30% of the respondents are from rural areas and 70% are from Ulaanbaatar. Conclusion: There is a need to continue the 6-month capacity building training for mental health nurses.
