Abstract

Background: In the recent years, sexually transmitted diseases infection rate are very high in worldwide and our country. In 2018, 38.3% of all infectious diseases in Mongolia accounted for sexually transmitted diseases. STI is most common in our country because 10-50 percent of them asymptomatic and not fully involve diagnosis and treatment. Aim: To investigate co-infection of STIs. Materials and Methods: 17-55 aged 3082 participants, who visited the NCCD hospitals, were involved in this study. We identified STIs in cervical and urethral swab samples by wet mount, Gramm smear and culture methods. Results: In this study, we first examined 3082 samples by Gramm staining and wet mount, culture, nugent score for STI. Results showed that 30.6% (275/897) were N.gonorrhoea, 11.26% (101/897) were (CI 9.35-13.5) T.vaginalis, 23.08% (207/897) were (CI 20.44-25.95) Candida, 27.8% (444/1589) of all women had bacterial vaginosis diagnosed. Finally, we investigated co-infection of STIs8 there were many cases of overlapping 2-3 infections but relatively few cases of four infections. Conclusion: 1. STIs were found in 29.1% (897/3082), (CI 27.5-30.7, p<0.005) of all customers surveyed, with age group 20-34 and women of reproductive age having the highest (p<0.01) STIs. 2. Of the STIs, co-infection of N.gonorrhoeae and T.vaginalis were the highest (15.6%) and the incidence of 2-3 co-infections were common (p<0.05).
