Background: Nowadays, asthma is not completely controlled and is a health problem. Asthma is a disease that can be fully controlled and treated, and the most important part of treatment is patient health education, physician-patient partnership. Aim: To determine level of knowledge with asthma patient, it how affect asthma control and asthma quality of life. Materials and Methods: The study was done by hospital-based cross-sectional method. Asthma knowledge assessment questionnaires from University of Newcastle, Australia, and the quality of life of patients with asthma was assessed using the “Sydney Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire”, asthma control was assessed using “Asthma Control Test”. The asthma education program was according to GINA patient guide, conducted by face-to-face for each patient, and re-evaluated after 3 months. Results: A total of 50 people with asthma (84% (42) female, 16% (8) male; average age 56±10.3) were included in the study. 30% (15) before training of the total patients surveyed had “Adequate knowledge”, 70% (35) had “Inadequate knowledge”. After training, it increased to “Adequate knowledge” 88% (44) (cut-off point = 40; p<0.001). However, the quality of life was before (3.3±1.2) and after training (2.1±1.1; t=6.22; p<0.001). Before training by assessment of controlled level, 10% (5) were “Well controlled”, 8% (4) were “Partly controlled” and 82% (41) were “Poor controlled. After training, 28% (14) were “Well controlled”, 34% (17) were “Partly controlled” and 38% (19) were “Poor controlled” (p<0.001) representive. The association between level of asthma knowledge and asthma control (r=0.605, p<0.001), the relationship between asthma control and quality of life (r=0.80, p<0.001). Conclusions: Asthma knowledge is an inadequate. The unsuitable force and power of inhalation drugs can lead to uncontrolled asthma. As a result of health education program, asthma control and quality of life are improving.
