Abstract

Introduction: As of 2021, 339 million people worldwide have asthma. The prevalence of asthma is projected to increase by 100 million by 2025. Researchers emphasized that allergies and bronchial asthma are increasing in our country. In 2010, the prevalence of current wheezing respiratory symptoms was 15.7% among adults and 20.9% among children aged 6-7 years, and 4.7% among diagnosed asthma. Purpose: To investigate the morbidity of allergic diseases in Dalanzadgad and Tsogt-Tsetsii soums of Umnugovi province. The survey included children aged 0-16 years and adults over 17 years of age, and confirmed the diagnosis by performing spirometric tests, skin prick tests, and skin patch tests on those with allergy symptoms. The survey covered a total of 98 children, including 50 men (51.1%) and 48 women (48.9%) aged 0-16, 46 men (25.4%) and 133 women (74.5%) over 17 years of age. Conclusion: Respiratory allergies included allergic rhinitis and asthma are 129 (46.25%) prevalent among the respondents. The predominant causes of respiratory allergies are sages (n=51, 78.4%; test gland diameter 5.8±2.3 mm), nettle (n=26, 40%; test gland diameter 4.6±2.1 mm), and nettle plant allergies are relatively common. The common causes may be due to the diversity of Gobi plant species.
