Abstract

Background: After Coronavirus spreads rapidly, in worldwide researchers are studied about Covid-19 especially relationship between vitamin D and Covid-19 considerable due to improve people’s information about benefits of vitamin D supplement by research result, news and social media. Researchers to shown serum vitamin D levels decreased related to aging among patients with Covid-19. Aim: To determine vitamin D level in citizens of Ulaanbaatar in COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: We were collected information of clients’ to be served during 06 December 2019 – 25 March 2021 at Mon-Medical clinical hospital. A Vitamin D blood test was identified by a fully automatic analyzer iFlash-1800 from YHLO, China. Results: The total clients’ average age was 35.3±18.2 years. Mean vitamin D levels were found to be lower in total clients (29.6±10.30 ng/mL), 29.9±10.1 ng/mL in men, 29.4±10.4 ng/mL in women and there is no significantly difference (p>0.05) between these groups. The mean of vitamin D levels were 32.6±10.5 ng/mL in 0-17 years of age, 28.1±9.5 ng/ mL in 18-44 years of age, 29.1±10.2 ng/mL in 45-64 years of age, 29.1±10.2 ng/mL in 65-74 years of age, and 26.1±9.5 ng/mL in above 75 years of age so there is a significantly difference (p<0.05) between groups. In this aging group to be studied this measurement were significantly different (p<0.05) in men whereas in women significantly difference (p>0.05) absence. In this aging group to be studied this measurement between when were first coronavirus case reported in Mongolia before and after groups the mean was significantly (p<0.05) increased. Conclusion: Vitamin D level significantly different between aging group whereas no significantly difference between sex group in citizens of Ulaanbaatar in COVID-19 pandemic. The vitamin D level in after COVID-19 group significantly higher than before COVID-19 group.
