Study of non-toxic dose of Salidroside on macrophage cell culture
Keywords:
Salidroside, rhodioloside, macrophage, RAW264.7, non-toxic doseAbstract
Salidroside is a bioactive compound found in extract of Rhodiola rosea plant. The Rhodiola rosea extract has been used in medicine to improve mental capacity, treat fatigue, and promote bone healing. There is a need to study the action of biologically active substances in this very rare plant, rather than using it as a whole in medicine. In order to study the action of adding any chemical compound to a cell culture, it is first necessary to determine the non-toxic dose to the cell. Therefore, in this study, we determined the non-toxic dose of salidroside in RAW264.7 cell culture and compared it with the dose used previously in other macrophage cells. A total of 19 research articles of the salidroside in macrophage cell cultures were reviewed, and the non-toxic dose of salidroside in RAW264.7 cell cultures was determined by MTT analysis. To conclusions the results, 1. Salidroside has following effect that anti-inflammatory, cell protection, and inhibitory properties on M1 activation were determined in macrophage cell culture, 2. Salidroside was used in cell culture at a dose of 0.6-240 μg / ml or 2-800 μM, depending on the macrophage cell type, 3. in further studies, salidroside at a dose of 50 μg / ml or 167 μM is safe for RAW264.7 cell culture.
