Evaluation of protein activity in placental specimens during normal and postterm pregnancies
Keywords:
SHP-2, P-38, protein activationAbstract
Background: Although the role of SHP-2 protein in placental growth is unknown the role of SHP-2 protein remains unclear. Objective: Determination of SHP2 and p-p38 protein activity in placental samples. Methods: The concentration of protein isolated from placental tissue was determined using an ELISA reader in a BCA test album. The activity of SHP2 and p-p38 proteins in placental samples was determined by immunoblotting. Results: Immunoblotting results showed that the production of SHP2 protein varied in the placental specimens of the normal and postterm pregnant group. No activity of phosphorylated p38 protein, an inflammatory transcription factor, was detected in placental specimens during normal andpostterm pregnant group. Conclusion: SHP2 protein synthesis isuniform in placental specimens postterm pregnant. P38 protein not found to be active in the placenta items postterm pregnant.
