Background: Lower respiratory tract infection and pneumonia are two of the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in low and middle income countries. Aim: to conduct causative agent of lower respiratory bacterial infection by two methods: culture test and molecular biological test, to perform antibiotic susceptibility test from cultured pathogen. Material and methods: We used a selective and differential media used for the culture test for specimen (sputum). Organisms were identified by automated biochemical and mass spectrometer analyzers. Antibiotic susceptibility of microorganisms was determined by a fully automated analyzer using a card appropriate to the species. We extracted nucleic acid by fully automated analyzer. Detection of RTPCR pathogens using multiplex PCR kit to detect respiratory infection. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS22 software. Results: From December 1st, 2019 to April 30th, 2020, 295 specimens collected from Ulaanbaatar city and other provinces with a symptoms of lower respiratory tract infections were tested for microbial culture. According to the results of analysis 44.1% of 18 species of pathogens were detected. From 232 specimens, 7 types pathogens were detected by RTPCR method and 42.2% of 6 types pathogenic bacteria were detected. Conclusion: Diagnosis of RTPCR is effective in specific bacterial infection, although culture test is effective in nonspecific and rare bacterial infection of lower respiratory tract.
