Background: Third molars have long been identified as a source of problems and continue to be the most commonly impacted teeth in the human mouth. Wisdom teeth develop between the ages of 3.5-4, root formation completed by age 12-16 and teeth erupted by the age of 18-25. Wisdom teeth removal is the most common treatment for impacted wisdom teeth. Some authors indicated third molar impaction causes are malposition of tooth germ, hereditary factors, lack of sufficient eruption force for third molars and theory of phylogenetic regression of jaw size. Materials and methods: This study was conducted in the School of dentistry, MNUMS. Over all 50 customers were participated. And we assessed the results of radiologic findings which were examined by panoramic radiography and CBCT. Statistic calculations made by SPSS 21.0. The study has performed by the descriptive survey method and the result is statistically significant at <0.05. Results: Patients who have both and left or right sided mandibular third molar impactions got involved in our study Most of the patients (82%, n=41) showed impaction of both left and right mandibular impaction. While 14% n=7 of patients impaction were left or right mandibular. According to the Winter`s classification, most common case were 38(56.9%, n=23) while 48 were (n=26) 59.9%.. According to the Rood Shihab`s classification 29(65.9%) of all impacted third molars were devation of the mandibular canal, 6(13.6%), of them were deflection of the third molar roots by the canal. Over 89(95.7%) cases evaluated by panoramic radiography showed overlapping impacted third molars and IAN assessed by CBCT again, 44 cases showed same result. While panoramically overlapped 4(4.3%) teeth were not overlapped with IAN by CBCT. Conclusion: Total of 89 of the impacted molars positions where coinciding with the alveolar inferior nerve. Of which them 62 where females, 29(46.8%) had left molar overlap and 33(53.2%) of them had the right molar overlap.
