Abstract

Mongolia has one of the highest standard rates of hepatocellular carcinoma in the world, and the number of patients undergoing hepatocellular carcinoma surgery at the National Cancer Center of Mongolia is year to year, as hepatocellular carcinoma resection surgery is the most advanced treatment for stage I and II hepatocellular carcinoma. The number of patients undergoing this surgery is becoming more and more urgent. We proposed to conduct this research for the following reason: The budget access for health care services is relatively limited nowadays, thus, there is an enlarging necessity to allocate financial resources effectively as well as efÏciently. Enhancing public health by optimizing consumption of drugs and improving medical supplies based on scientific research and efÏcient spending of the approved budget are considered as the main concerns of the scope. The most commonly used postoperative medications were tramadol, cefataxime, ringer, albumin, hepamerc (l-ornithine, l-aspartate), stronger-neo minophagen, lutason and metoclopramide, ursodeoxycholic acid, spirinolactone, and ascorbic acid. In addition, the total cost of postoperative liver cancer surgery drugs was MNT 617,243, of which MNT 162,324 or 26.3% was paid by the patient and MNT 454,919 or 73.7% was paid by the health insurance fund.
