Abstract

In total, there are 205 populations of ticks of five species, including I. persulcatus, D. nuttalli from Selenga province, H. asiaticum from Dornogovi province, H. asiaticum, D. niveus, D. nuttalli from Arkhangai province, H. asiaticum, D. niveus, D. nuttalli from Bayankhongor province, D. nuttalli, D. silvarum, D. niveus from Khuvsgul province were included in the study to detect tick-borne rickettsiosis. Of the total number of 205 ticks collected in some provinces of the Central and Khangai regions, 72.6% (149/205) of rickettsia with the 23S ITS gene length of 412 bp were detected by PCR method. Ricketsia spp was isolated as an independent clade isolated in Mongolia from a phylogenetic tree based on the nucleotide sequence of the Ricketsia 23S rRNA gene found in tick populations in the studied provinces.
