Sexually transmitted diseases have huge impact on male infertility. Several studies have confirmed that chlamydia trachomatis is the main infectious cause of male infertility. Due to that, we aimed to identify the prevalence of chlamydia trachomatis among males and compare it with the rate of male infertility. Furthermore, we conducted the study between December, 2017 and February, 2019 based on Andrology clinic laboratory and Molecular Biology-Human genetics department of Bio Medicine School of MNUMS by hospital based cross sectional design. The semen analysis (smermogram) was done in accordance with semen analysis reference value of WHO, 2010. Furthermore, the infection of chlamydia trachomatis was identified by ELISA. Total of 1914 individuals were included and tested in the current study, 1181 (61.7%) of them were normozoospermia and 339 (17.7%) of them were tested positive with chlamydia trachomatis. In contrary, 733 (38.3%) of them had any of changes in semen analysis and 232 (12.12%) of them were tested positive with chlamydia trachomatis. Based on these data above, we concluded that chlamydia trachomatis infection rate is high among Mongolian infertile males.
