Honey-based zinc oxide nanoparticles and their biological importance
Keywords:
Honey, zinc oxide, nanoparticles, biological importanceAbstract
Nanotechnology has intensively been studied to apply in the field of agriculture, food manufacturing and medicine. Currently, it has attracted attention to synthesize new nanocarrier systems in therapeutic application for cancer and infectious diseases. In this review, we have discussed phisyco-chemical characteristics of honey-based zinc oxide nanoparticles and their biological importance. Honey-based zinc oxide nanoparticles are round in shape, aggregative in state and dark to white in color. The hydrodynamic size is usually less than 100 nm. Honey-based zinc oxide nanoparticles have now been studied for many applications such as therapeutics and diagnostics. In conclusion, honey-based zinc oxide nanoparticles are possible to synthesize by using modern nanotechnological methods and can be used to treat infectious diseases and cancer.
