Hepatitis B virus small surface antigen’s gene sequence disruption by CRISPRCAS9 system
Keywords:

Introduction: World Health Organization estimates that in 2015, 257 million people were living with chronic hepatitis B infection also in 2015, hepatitis B resulted in an estimated 887 000 deaths, mostly from cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The current therapies to treat hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection are limited. Material and methods: In the last decade, Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) system, originally identified in bacteria and archaea, have been extensive study for genetic engineering to consist of an RNA-based adaptive immune system. Here, we deleted specific sequence of surface small antigen (small HBsAg)-encoding region of HBV infected HepG2 cell line, using the CRISPR-Cas9 system and checked by PCR analysis.
