Abstract

Aorto-esophageal fistula is a rare and life-threatening condition, with high mortality rate. We present the case of a 55 years old woman, who presented in emergency room after hematemesis and upper abdominal pain, melena a day ago, epigastric pain three days ago. Esophagogastroduodenosopy was done immediately, which revealed submucosal polypoid lesion with central ulceration and a blood clot at 25 cm of the esophagus. Contrast-enhanced chest computed tomography with thoracic aortogram showed a saccular aneurysm arising from the right lateral wall of the arch thoracic aorta (diameter 2.0 cm).
