The antioxidant action of the Sampilnorov pill was studied by creating a pathological pattern of ischemia / reperfusion injury in the retinal tissue of experimental animals. The experimental animals were divided into 6 groups such as healthy, pathological, experimental (0.1g, 0.3g, 0.6g) and standard. Retinal ischemia/reperfusion injury was created in retinal tissue of female rats of SD (Sprague Dawley) breed. The MDA level, SOD, GSH activation were determined and compared between the groups. At the 48 hours of the experiment, decrease in MDA level (p <0.05), increase in SOD activation (p <0.05) were observed in the group which received Sampilnorov pills with a dose of 0.3 g compared to the pathological group. In addition, compared to the pathological group, statically significant decrease in MDA level at 6, 12 hours (p <0.05) and 24, 48 hours(p<0.01); increase in SOD activity at 24 and 48 (p <0.05); and increase in GSH level at 24 and 48 hours (p <0.05) were observed in the experimental group which received Sampilnorov pills with a dose of 0.6 g. For the pathological pattern of retinal ischemia/reperfusion injury in experimental animals, Sampilnorov pills showed antioxidant action in high dose, which may be due to the antioxidant substances it contains.
