Background: In the last 30 years, due to the quadrupling of the incidence of diabetes in the world, the search for pharmaceutical and non-pharmacological treatments has continued, and many studies have been conducted that have shown that herbal tea has a positive effect on glucose metabolism disorders in people diagnosed with diabetes. With this in mind, we set out to study the blood glucose-lowering effect of “Antidiabetic” tea made from plants and animals based on traditional medical knowledge. Aim: To investigate the sugar-lowering effect of Antidiabetic tea in clients with type 2 diabetes Materials and Methods: A total of 60 clients who met the criteria for inclusion in the study and were diagnosed with diabetes type-2 in a controlled clinical trial were divided into 2 groups: standard treatment (control group) and research (experimental) group. In the standard treatment group, drug treatment was continued, and in the study group, “Antidiabetic” tea was administered twice a day for 3 months (90 days), and the results were determined based on the parameters of laboratory tests / comprehensive blood tests, biochemical tests, insulin and C peptide. Results: When the test was repeated before drinking the tea and after drinking the tea twice a day for 3 months (90 days) in clients with the diagnosis of diabetes type 2, glucose was 7.58mmol/l-7.55mmol/l(p=0.9264), HbA1c was 7.63%6.88%(p=0.0083). was determined to be statistically significant. Cholesterol and detailed blood tests did not show statistical significance. Triglycerides decreased slightly. Insulin 16.86mU/ml-18.4mU/ml(p=0.4811) and C peptide 2.58ng/ ml-3.32ng/ml(p=0.0651) showed a significant increase. Conclusion: Antidiabetic tea has the effect of reducing blood sugar levels by stimulating beta cells and increasing insulin and C peptides by supporting the endocrine function of the pancreas in patients with type 2 diabetes. Natural organic meat by-products based on traditional knowledge and cinnamon, which is considered a promising treatment with significant effects on HbA1c levels in diabetics, Antidiabetic tea containing high antioxidant content of beetroot, mango fruit, which has been found to have anti-cancer and anti-diabetic effects, can be effective in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
