Background: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is influenced by various factors. International studies have identified an association between NAT2 gene polymorphisms and cancer susceptibility. This study investigates the relationship between RCC and NAT2 gene polymorphisms in the Mongolian population. Aim: To analyze the association between RCC and NAT2 gene polymorphisms and determine cancer risk. Materials and Methods: The study included 59 patients diagnosed with RCC confirmed by pathological examination and 59 healthy individuals matched by age and gender. Peripheral blood samples (3–5 ml) were collected, and genomic DNA was extracted using the Qiagen Mini Blood DNA Extraction Kit. NAT2 gene polymorphisms were identified using the PCR-RFLP method following established protocols. Results: The study revealed that NAT2 gene polymorphisms significantly contribute to RCC risk. While the WT/WT genotype was most common in both case and control groups, the WT/M3 and WT/M2 genotypes were associated with an increased risk of RCC. Conclusion: NAT2 gene polymorphisms, particularly the WT/M3 (OR=5.97; p=0.0001) and WT/M2 (OR=4.8; p=0.05) genotypes, significantly increase the risk of RCC.
