Background: In 2022, in total 1725 cases of dysentery were registered, which indicates 5.0 per 10,000 population, and 43.5 percent of intestinal infectious diseases in Mongolia. It indicates an increase of 993 cases or 2.7 per 10,000 population compared to the previous year. . In traditional Eastern medicine, the Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L extracted from its flowers, has been used to stop diarrhea in case of poisoning of the digestive tract, to take it internally in case of diseases such as stomach ulcers, and to sterilize skin wounds. However, in modern times, researchers study the medicinal plant Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis and its potential to stop the growth of cancer cells and its application in anti-cancer treatment. We observed that there is a lack of research on the antibacterial activity of the flower extracts from the medicinal plant Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L in recent research data, which became the main focus of the study. Aim: The in vitro antibacterial activity of the flower extract of Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L. grown in Mongolia Materials and Methods: The raw materials of the Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L. flowers’s quality parameters are identified by MNS:6689:2017 “Roots and rhizomes, flowers collecting, storage and transportation of Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L. technical requirements” and Mongolian National Pharmacopoeia (2011). Flower extracts were prepared by comparing the percolation method and the ultrasonic water bath extraction method. The extract was prepared by processing raw materials in a ratio of 1:10 in an ultrasonic bath at 50 degrees for 30-40 minutes, in the ultrasonic extraction maceration (Ultrasonic Cleaner WUC-A06H) The antibacterial activity of Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis (Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L.) flower extract was tested in vitro environment by broth dilution method and paper disc method in 20%, 40% and 70% ethanol extracts for 10 bacteria. The research results were processed using STATA 14 software. Results: It has been determined that polyphenolic compounds, which are the main active substances of the medicinal herb (Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L.), are the most abundant during the intensive version of ultrasonic maceration. The E. casseliflavus, VRE. faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, Acinitobacter, and Staphylococcus aerus in 70%, 40%, and 20% liquid extracts had a bacteria reducing effect /bactericide/. However, we determined that there is a result of inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli and Candida albicans bacteria /bacteriostatic/. The highest concentration (70%) of Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis flower extract was identified when measuring the area around the disk where bacteria did not grow (sacred zone) in the paper disc method. Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonos aeruginosa are showed slightly higher antibacterial activity, and concurred 3.67 mm and 3.33 mm clean area, respectively. However, Acinetobacter baumannii formed 2.33 mm, Staphylococcus epidermidis and MRSA 2 mm, Candida albicans 1.67 mm, Enterococcus casseliflavus, VRE.faecalis, Escherica coli, and Salmonella enterica 1.33 mm sacred zone correspondingly. Conclusions: 1. When extracting the flower extract of Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L., it was determined that it is appropriate to chop the raw material into 3mm pieces and extract it with 70% ethanol and intensive maceration in an ultrasonic water bath for 30-40 minutes. 2. The 40% and 70% ethanol extracts of Sanguisorba ofÏcinalis L. flowers have high antibacterial activity.
