Characterization of improved Biodegradable Mg-Ca Alloys
Keywords:
Biodegradable magnesium-calcium alloy, thin layer, corrosion resistanceAbstract
This study is summarized in order to investigate the improvement in the properties of biodegradable Mg-Ca alloys. Because this alloy is currently considered to be the most promising bone strengthening and replacement material used in biomedicine. Iron‐substituted tricalcium phosphate coatings are deposited on biodegradable Mg‐Ca alloys to improve their corrosion resistance. Research is underway to improve the corrosion resistance of Mg-Ca alloys by forming thin layers. Mg-Ca alloys have been studied to be deposited with iron doped tricalcium phosphate coatings to improve their corrosion resistance. The materials that form the thin layer must be biodegradable in the human body during degradation. This alloy can recommend for biomedical implant applications from recent research articles.
