Introduction: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is leading cause of cancer related death in Mongolia. Early screening and liver resection are main treatment of the cancer. As a result of increased incidence rate of hepatocellular carcinoma in Mongolia, liver resection cases have raised regularly in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgical division in National Cancer Center of Mongolia (NCC). Therefore, it is crucial to calculate total expenditure of the operation and out of pocket payment in patient with HCC via scientific approach. Materials and methods: This study retrospectively analyzed that expenditure of liver resection due to hepatocellular carcinoma. Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgical department of National cancer center of Mongolia performed 2394 liver resections in patient with hepatocellular carcinoma between 2015-2019. In order to improve probability of the study, 399 patients participated in this one. Conclusion: According to study, average total cost of surgery (preoperative, perioperative and postoperative) was 2719654±65592.4 MNT in per person who underwent surgery in 2015-2019 and 536965.5±28192.1 MNT or 19±0.4 of patients spent on average.
