Determination of PD-1 / PD-L1 protein expression in non-small cell lung cancer
Keywords:

Methods: In the pathology department of the National Cancer Center, 31 surgical tissue blocks diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer were sampled, tissue microarrays were prepared, and immunohistochemical analysis was performed using polyclonal antibodies PD-1 (CD279) and PD-L1 (CD274). One specimen was excluded because it was not possible to evaluate. Results: Evaluation of T-lymphocyte PD-1 protein expression in lung cancer tissue revealed positive staining 22 (73.3%), and no staining 8 (26.7 %) was detected. Evaluation of PD-L1 protein expression in non-small lung cancer cells 24 (80.0%) and not stained 6 (20.0%) were evaluated, respectively. PD-L1 protein expression was determined to be significantly different depending on the stage of the tumor (p <0.05), but no significant differences were found in the histology of the tumor and the grade of the tumor. Conclusion: Since 80% of non-small lung cancer cells are PD-L1 positive and 73.3% are PD-1 positive, it is possible to introduce immunotherapy regardless of histological pattern.
