Both in the world and in our country, blood circulatory disorder is still leading cause of death. In 2018, mortality caused by circulatory system increased by 1.7 per in 10000 population and 28.8 percent of the total deaths. In traditional medicine, deer musk has been widely used to relieve a pain and in inflammatory disorders. We investigated inflammatory effect of deer musk using an ischemic stroke rat model. Methods: In our experiment, we used 180 whore meal breed rats which weigh 180-220 g and divided these rats into 50 mg/kg of musk, 100 mg/kg of musk, 10 mg/kg of nimodipine, the ischemic-reperfusion groups by filling the midriff of the brain and take the drugs for 7 days in each group. The results were analyzed by ELISA, determining amount of IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-10 cytokines in 1, 3 and 7 days. Result: Based on the above results of inflammatory cytokines, it is determined that, deer musk (50, 100 mg/kg) in the 3 and 7th days in ischemic stroke model MCAO/R had an effect on reducing inflammatory cytokines IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6 (*p <0.05) and increasing of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 (* p <0.05). Conclusions: 50% and 100 mg/kg doses of musk leads to reduce inflammation by reducing IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α cytokines and increasing anti-inflammatory IL-10 cytokine in ischemic-reperfusion rat model.
